ABOUT US

Our Farming Family

Seed Solutions was started as an on farm seed dealership in 1998. As the business and customer base grew, the decision was made to incorporate and in 2003 Seed Solutions Inc. was formed. Over the years, we have established many business relationships, worked with hundreds of growers, met several people whose advise and guidance helped us grow the business, not to mention lasting friendships. Through the years, we have maintained one thing, we are simply farmers working for farmers.

Jamie Grier  Owner and General Manager

Jamie grew up on the family dairy farm thats been in the Grier family for over 175 years. After graduating high school he attended Kemptville College, returning to the farm in the spring of 1993 to work with his Father Harold. In 1995 jamie married his wife Tracy and had 2 children, Josh and Andrea. In 1998, the opportunity for an on farm seed dealership came along and it was decided it was a good fit for the operation. After a few years, Tracy joined Jamie in the seed business, as well as the daily farm operations began to shift from Jamie’s father to Jamie and Tracy. The couple ran the farm and seed business until the Fall of 2018 when the decision was made to exit the dairy industry and focus on cash cropping and the seed business. Over the winter, plans were made to realign with a more suitable seed supplier, Legend Seeds and to build a grain elevator to become more full service to their expanding customer base.

Taylor Earl  Elevator Manager

Taylor grew up on a dairy and cash crop operation near Napanee. In 2009 and 2010 he worked for Seed Solutions as a plot coordinator and sales representative. Over the last 9 years, Taylor has worked in Western Canada for pipeline service companies, and more recently back home as a mechanic and welder, all while working with his step father on their cash crop farm and doing custom baleing and combining. Taylor will be taking a leading roll in the daily management and operation of the grain elevator, while maintaining his personal custom work business.
